Yesterday, I took a lot of photographies at Palladium. Here are a few to show you the place.
Palladium was built in 1925 and served as Växjö's largest cinema until 2001, when SF built Filmstaden. The cinema was then taken over by volunteers, whose aim was to preserve the Palladium and develop the business to an open meeting place and a cultural center with width.
Paul Boberg designed the Palladium in Växjö. It was built in 1925 with the entrance in an older building on Storgatan. The cinema proprietor was August Boman. They opened the cinema with Victor Sjöström's "He who Gets Slapped", Smålandsposten wrote about the inauguration: "May we hope and believe that the Palladium in Växjö shall so act, the film and film interest always survive and thrive in our city."
Decorative Painting conducted by Sven Sundbaum painted over in 1980 when Lennart Clemens was commissioned to renovate the premises. In the upper foyer exterior rooms (small stage), one can still see the original paintings. The luminaires are also left since the house was built.
